| The default orientation which documents are placed into the Document Feeder is Landscape (left edge is feed into the feeder first). Long documents (Legal or larger), though, must be placed in a Portrait orientation (top of document feed first). However, because the scanner requires 2 passes when scanning in duplex, the backside image is returned to the application 180 degrees out of phase from the front side. To resolve this, the 180 Degree Orientation option must be set in the scanners driver in order for the back side image to have the correct orientation. |
